Welcome to the UK Fisherman diary pages.

Here you will find not only detailed reports of my attempts at fishing but also dates for your diary.

2nd Riverfly Conference, 8 March 2007

HOW GOOD IS YOUR RIVER?
2nd Riverfly Conference, 8 March 2007
At the Natural History Museum, London

The Riverfly Partnership announces the 2nd Riverfly Conference, which heralds the national launch of the Anglers Monitoring Initiative. Endorsed by the Environment Agency and the Salmon & Trout Association, the initiative enables angling groups to monitor riverfly populations and highlight severe changes in the water quality of their rivers.

Jeremy Paxman will chair a panel discussion, taking questions from the floor.

The conference programme will be opened by Paul Knight, Chair of the Riverfly Partnership, with a keynote speech by the head of policy from the Environment Agency.

Speakers, including anglers, Environment Agency staff, conservationists and academics, will be discussing the conservation of riverfly populations and the associated impact of river management, farming and climate change.

Further details, including the conference programme can be found at: www.riverflies.org

Registration: Early registration is advised, as places are limited.  Contact Bridget Peacock at The Natural History Museum, Cromwell Road, London, SW7 5BD, b.peacock@nhm.ac.uk.

Cost: Registration is £45 for corporate delegates and £30 for individuals. The cost includes refreshments, lunch, and a conference pack.

Sponsors: Natural History Museum, Salmon & Trout Association, Environment Agency, Buglife, and Natural England.

Additional sponsors welcomed.  Please contact Bridget Peacock to find out more.
