Goldenbolls 2010 charity fishing event

Another successful event this year has raised a staggering £20,382.36 for Cancer Research UK. This event was once again held at Hawkhurst Fish Farm using the whole complex. This event has now raised £95,838.72 since it started raising money for Cancer Research UK in 2006 .

The format for the weekend event this year was a social on the Friday night followed by four different matches over the weekend consisting of:-

  • A  27 hour carp match held from Saturday until Sunday
  • A match angler’s match held on Saturday
  • A match angler’s match held on Sunday
  • And a junior match held on Sunday

With a large raffle Sunday afternoon.

Daniel Warren won the 27 hour carp match, with 2 carp for 39.8 lb.

The winner of the Saturday match angler’s match was Mark Greenway from musketeers angling club, he was also the overall weekend match angler’s winner with 206.10 lb )  He would like to dedicate his win to SOPHIE GREENWAY. The Sunday match angler’s match winner was Alan Thornby with 103.8 lb. He collected his trophy from ray of ashford tackle.

Youngster Kieran sage from the Musketeers Angling Club weighed in 168.2 lb  to take 2nd place on the Saturday match and blew the adults away… well done Kieran.

Danny Eason from Musketeers Angling Club with 126.14 lb of carp from the match lake on the Saturday took 3rd place.

Youngster Ben Goldsmith from musketeers angling club took 90 lb of carp from the match lake on Saturday keeping the adults looking over their shoulders   . Another up and coming youngster.

Ross Mcauley won the Sunday juniors match with 40.2 lb…   13 year old Ross fishes for Musketeers Angling club and has just become sponsored by Middy.

Saturday match guys made up from Musketeers Angling Club have supported the match anglers side of the event the last few years and always raise a laugh and create a great atmosphere as well as raising money throughout the year at various other charity events.  Well done guys.

Wendy Cale, Barry Cale and Hayley Cale having started this charity event are amazed at how well and how far this has come… they put a lot of hard work into it… WELL DONE .

A huge thank you to everybody involved in the planning, organization and running of this event especially the guys and girls on the goldenbolls committee
