I and fellow anglers have fished along this river the last few seasons and sadly have to agree with the comments above, the poaching is a serious cause for concern as is the otter/cormorant predation issue. Nothing seems to be done to address the decease in the fish population. Whole stretches of the river i have fished over the last twenty five years are now virtually devoid of fish.







This is a nice wide stretch of river used to be well known for large bream,roach catches in the 60's & 70's but sadly those days are long gone. It has plenty of boat traffic in the summer months and is usually fairly coloured. The problem is today Cormorants and other predators have caused some worryingly serious fish stock crashes and consequently it can be very patchy. There are still fish to be had but it is hard work finding them,and of course there has also been a recent poaching issue.
