I have to agree with most of what was said in the previous comment we fished it recently and fished from stagings caught some nice bream. Not a lot of silly rules thankfully! can be exposed to the wind even on a mild day so be prepared. The place at the moment does not seem to be suffering from Otter predation yet not like Dilham!. For the fishes sake lets hope it stays that way!!.

We fished this lake twice over the last few weeks for it's prolific head of bream on the feeder it's a big lake so do not use commercial kit
. The fish were all about the 4 to 6lb mark no small ones though?!.OK fishing on the first day but the second was very patchy i got talking to a local fisherman and a bailiff apparently there is now a serious predation problem with Otters!.Sad and bad news i know, the pike and eels have suffered also fish have been found in serious distress/ maimed with just a few bites out of them. Other species have also suffered along with some of the wildlife population (water voles?) this place is to vast to fence off what a pity.A shame if this lake ends up as others have practically devoid of fish.

Got to the lake fairly early weather not good with a wind direct into your face at the dam end.It fished OK for about the first couple of hours then died off had all bream around the 4lb weight disappointed that no tench showed. It certainly is a beautiful lake the scenery is worthwhile for a visit for it's own sake.I think the lake must get a lot of pressure and this has an effect on the fishing, thankfully did not see any Cormorants .Apparently the otter issue is causing fisheries trouble all over norfolk.

While on holiday i want to fish for the Carp in this lake late [ July early august] but am unsure as to what the lake holds in the way of numbers?and where to fish for them. I have heard that the lake has been Ottered? am i wasting my time?.I am aware it is day ticket only, glad to see that more fishery's are allowing microbarb hooks.

Not that many carp! only a few caught it's not really a carp water and you cannot night fish it or use certain baits. I would take the carp stories with a large pinch of salt as for other species mainly bream with a few roach, the tench? have not really showed at all the last few seasons.I would check the barbless hook rule as we all know they can also do damage.

The otter problem has increased at this water the sight of dead mature fish just laying around is heart breaking not a scratch on them!!.Not many tench caught either this may be due to the increasing predation. The bream are still about but a lot more wary towards this time of year.As for the pike we will have to wait for autumn to see what the situation is for them now.

If you are going to fish this very large beautiful lake for carp i would not bother it clearly to me needs a stocking programme, as the numbers due to increased predation and natural causes have drastically fallen. The swims for carp fishing are very limited due to a number of reasons, reed growth extending further and further into the lake is one. Also the few swims available are basically four the nearest to the shallow end before the fence.
From what i hear the tench and bream fishing has also had severe predation issues.

Only a handful of the carp left now,all the decent carp have been found dead with otter damage.

Shame about the otter problems we are having similar trouble in Cambridgeshire around Huntingdon and St Ives river and pits. Now that these animals are aware of this lake things will only become worse.I was looking to fish it for the summer holidays but will give it a miss.

Pleasant surroundings made this established lake attractive fished near the dam, the only problem with that was too many doing the same thing!.... It got claustrophobic if you tried to cast in any direction but straight out in front of you it was nigh impossible.I feel that those swims should be pegged out, it was nearly as bad as a commercial!! it certainly caused some friction!!.....Fish caught were mainly bream around the 5-6lb mark with a few small roach and skimmers no tench showed. As for carp it seems there are a few but not many,If you want peace and quite don't fish the dam area. Some fish were showing round hole damage in lips caused by barbless hooks.Fish from 7AM to Sunset in the summer,Tickets on the bank, lake is Bailiffed and patrolled, EA bailiffs also visit.
