I'm sending a brief note because I was interested in Where Thrope Abbott is located in The U K by fater was a Flyer in B-17's in W W 2 based out of Thrope Abott all I know is it's enear the coast and Dad used to go to the bay or cove and gather perwinkles for the Townfolk as that area was off-limits to them because of the gunney area
I was Hoping someone could tellme more of the town and suroundind area

hi there i live in a town called diss its about 3 miles from thorpe abbotts this is the closest town to thorpe abbots heading west if you head east theres a town called harleston which is about 5 miles the closest major city is norwich about 20 miles north of thorpe the coast line is about 40 miles east from thorpe there is a memorial at thorpe abbotts but what its for i cant tell you at the moment i will stop and look next time i am passing i did no of a airfield there but its long gone now its back to farm land all this is on the norfolk suffolk boarder i hope this has been of help to you i will look at the memorial and send you another message. chris
