  • nige  - this is a fact

i have fished kjs at killamarsh for 2 1/2 years...just bought my second permit...and i honestly wish i had not bothered..the reason bieng . kjs killamarh is kens home, he is a nice enough guy, but seems to be losing interest in the ponds there, upto the cold snap we had last winter it was amazing..the second section on canal was fishing like a dream, thats what made me decide to buy my first permit, west pines you were spoilt for choice with there bieng plenty of really good pegs, the carp pond always very low levels of water in summer, but some really big carp,16lb+ coming out ,then wham,,cold snap...all ponds exept canal sections vertualy wiped out....yes ken has restocked ponds with new fish..but how big???..8 inc max..its going to be 5 years before it fishes like last year..and you can believe the storys about ken and his son...yes his son who has always got a exuse up his sleeve when anybody gives negative feedback on any forum..that all the big carp caught on canal sections were removed and taken to aston ponds...this is fact.....ask the guys who have match on canal section on every sat morn what wieghts win matches these days??? 7lb onsat 10sept....last year this time you was looking at 60lb...so ken and his son just look around at the state of the ponds now and tell me your proud....they are overgrown with neglect...why not ask 3 keen anglers to meet up every 3 months and tackle each pond in turn?? give them a years permit..that way anglers who love to fish will look after it for you as you cant be bothered,,,wish i had a back garden like yours....ken you are a decent guy...just look after the people who pay for your luxurys...the anglers who fish kjs killamarsh

p.s. there are no catfish at kjs killamarsh....if you want to fish for them go to kjs aston....by the way these ponds are first class.....day tickets for all ponds are 6 pounds...fifteen to night fish at aston on specimen pond..years permit 70 pounds..which is very much worth it despite kjs killamarsh...

Since being made redundant from my machinig job in May 2009, I was at loose ends on what to do with my time,I had no chance of a job at 61 years old, I used to fish years ago (well when I was a teenager) so decided to dust off the old tackle and find a venue to pass away the time, after looking around, I found the KJS fisheries with 9 lakes and a stretch of canal and have never looked back, I have had some great fun in great surroundings and whether I have caught or not, mainly the former, I have always had some great people to chat to, and had lots of advice on modern day angling and a few shocks when the float has gone shooting down the lake, but I am having a whale of a time in my enforced retirement. Well done Ken on your superb fisheries and many thanks to all the wardens for the help and advice.
