UK Fisherman

just spent a week at cosgrove hoping to get some fishing done,,what a waste of time,,you cant fish 6 out of the 12 lakes because the static van owners wont let you,,the ski lake is just that a pleasure boat lake that inclueds jet skis and is not stocked with fish,,so a waste of time herons field is taken up by resident tourers ,,that leaves the 4 ponds over the back field with little or no fish in them the last match held on one of the ponds was won with 12lbs of fish,,plenty of canadian geese to chase the kids away though ,,if you like poo,,,nice park ,,but its not a fishery

I agree with yu sid, blanked there, we wer put on heronsfield- told to be a fishing spot, yet there was no access to the lake as there was a tree there. I think the fishing is overrated but im back next week for an another try- i'll let u know if i catch.

I have also just done a weekend at cosgrove and allthough the lakes are crammed with statics and tourers i went to the office and asked rules on fishing. if there is a van taking up the peg you ARE aloowed to fish it as long as the occupants are not in. however i found everybody was there, so i just asked a few people the few were the older generation and as im young they didint want me anywhere near them but i also found many than were more than happy to let me fish from there pegs. so i would suggest go to the resident lake and ask around as i had some brilliant fish out of there including a 23lb 8oz common.

Just had a week there myself,,,,,,,,,sids right,its crap!,had a walk round the boating lake when i got there with the kids, got chating to the few fisherman i saw on it,( residents) 1 fellas been on the lake for 10 years and told me its not been stocked ever!!!!!!!!!!!!The ponds on the back fields have had a few pasties put in them over the last few years but thats all(,residents catch and move them to there own lakes, see the match weights) my boys were looking forward to catching some fish, they did.......From the chippy!!!! all the photos on there web site are fish from the resident pegs, you can fish them if no ones there, we did try to, just set up my lads, then the resident turned up with his kids and 2 bull terriers! Same with the river, residents all along it. Maks you see why they dont have feedback on there own site!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Geese everywere, poo city!John. [
