The bream and tench fishing is really hotting up now at Bury Hill Fisheries with 200lb bags being taken off the bank and a reported 300lb boat haul. Whilst the big bags are being dominated by the bream which have been caught to over 8lb, quite a few tench are also showing with specimens to 7lb+ being reported. With both the front and long banks producing some very good weights, the middle to end sections of both banks are the key areas .........

Operating an unauthorised fixed net on the River Tywi Estuary at Ferryside on 24 April 2006 cost a Ferryside man £1,150 in fines and costs at Carmarthen Magistrate’s Court on Febuary 20th. David Laughton Sandbrook Cole of Brigstocke Terrace, Ferryside was fined £400 and also ordered to pay costs of £750 in a prosecution brought by Environment Agency Wales ...........

04.01.07 - EA officers boost fish stocks in South Yorkshire:

Officers will be releasing thousands of fish into the River Don to restore stocks killed in a freak pollution incident last July. Around 10,000 fish including roach, bream and dace will be brought from the Environment Agency’s Calverton Fish Farm at Nottingham and released at locations in Kilnhurst, Conisborough, and Thrybergh as well as in Sheffield city centre on Wednesday, January 10 ............
