I have noticed many people taking coarse fish from the water and not returning them. Is it legal to retain fish? If not then I suggest the appropriate authority post signs indicating that such action is illegal. In particular the canal at Retford, Notts seems to be devoid of fish. This is said to be due to foreign fisherman who do not know the UK law, taking fish for consumption. Michael Griffiths November 2009
Chatton Ladies have entered 2 ladies teams in the Macmillan's Fishing Day at Derwent 11th October. The ladies have grown in strength and enthusiasm over the season and are looking forward to entering again, for some of the ladies it will be there first competition. Just recently, it would seem there have been several rumours surrounding our local lake in Aveley, Essex. THE LADIES TAKE TO THE HIGH SEAS The FFE Club had their first sea fishing trip on Sunday 2nd August 2009. Taking a chartered boat called The Warlord out of Amble Harbour the ten ladies managed to catch 28 Mackerel between them! Club member, Mary Snowdon said; "How exciting was that!
